So many things I want right now: A military style jacket (metroparkusa), the J Brand Houlihan Pants, a pair of classic black Chuck Taylors, a pair of TOMS, some cute skirts (Alice + Olivia), a pair of scalloped edge shorts (Topshop), a pair of lace shorts (Topshop), a pair of lace up wedges/booties (shopsavannahs.com), some cute flats (Elle Shop), military style boots (allsaints), a sequin dress (3.1 Phillip Lim), something from the Lanvin for H&M collection, a top with some shoulder bling (AKA New York), and Alexander McQueen clutch, and of course something from the new Parisian-inspired Wildfox Collection

Oh mon dieu

I am almost speechless right now because I am so obsessed with these clutches from Alexander McQueen. The intricacy on this is just unbelievable and I absolutely love the design of each one. Yes, those are skulls on the top of each one and one is even wearing a crown. Everything he has ever made has been above and beyond my expectation and this is just wow. Thought I would share my new obsession with all of you. -S

Sarah Burton after the SS11 show

I wasn't sure what to expect from the SS11 Alexander McQueen collection, the brand's first time debuting clothes without the iconic designer himself. However, I think that Alexander would be very proud of the latest collection designed by Sarah Burton, who until served as his 1st assistant since 1996.
In my opinion, Burton eloquently captured McQueen's legacy and penchant for the dramatic, while at the same time keeping her own sense of self. A feat that I imagine was not exactly easy giving her challenging role. The SS11 collection included whimsical dresses inspired by nature, from butterflies to feathers to a billowing field of black roses. Although I deeply miss my beloved king and his magnificent creations, I do have to say Bravo to Ms. Burton and her success in carrying on his truly unique legacy.

La Mode, Paris

I don't even want to write a review on Alexander McQueen because I don't want to take that joy away from LB because I know this is one of her favorite lines. Let me just say it was breathtaking artful garments. To see what I mean just look at the picture below. Sarah Burton really put in the detail that the late Alexander McQueen would have done himself.


Chanel was full of chunky heels, chunky sweaters, and chunky jewelry. Almost every piece had some type of tweed on it but this collection felt more office appropriate than a ready to wear line. I really liked the dress below sans the leather legs. I thought that was one of the edgier pieces in the collection.




I think I can honestly say that I would wear every single piece in Valentino's newest collection. Pier Paolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri created absolutely beautiful silhouettes for this collection. Every piece was extremely feminine and delicate. I loved also that each of the pieces was transparent and that added to the delicacy of the garments. This is definitely one of my favorite collections for Spring.

Farewell my King

I wasn't quite sure how to express my feelings about the recent passing of Alexander McQueen... Not only is he legendary in the fashion world, but he has also always been one of my favorite designers, beginning when I first saw Sarah Jessica Parker in one of his dresses at the 2006 Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala. After seeing the dress I immediately ran to my computer to learn more about this renowned artist. The theatrics of that year's fall show have been branded in my mind forever, which featured a dreamlike apparition of a woman out of thin air- that turned out to be a lifelike hologram of supermodel Kate Moss. His mind blowing, over the top runway shows have since been what I look forward to most each season.We can thank McQueen for many of the past years' ubertrends such as tartan plaids, goth lace, and the skull trend which is still in vogue today.

I was truly at a loss of words, as I'm sure were many others, when this past March, Alexander tragically took his own life just days before London fashion week.

Although Lee, as he was known by his friends, is gone, he did not leave without sharing his otherworldly talent with us one last time. His final collection was said to be inspired by Byzantine Art and the masterpieces of the Dark Ages. Not so ironically, the clothing seemed to be centered around the struggle between angels and demons. His Fall 2010 line truly left me in shivers and not just because of the ghostly presence. The dark foreboding coats and demonic shoes, contrasted by ethereal white gowns and divine gold embellishments made up a collection that was truly designed by an angel.

The intricate detail on the golden feathered overcoat is breathtaking.

I was truly left in awe after recently seeing the close ups of the shoes from his final designs.

My favorite piece from the collection were angelic winged platforms.

Alexander you were beyond a doubt one of a kind, and your spirit and the magic of your genius are forever irreplaceable. Rest in Peace.
