Snakeskin Surrender

I could go on and on about all the amazing studded things that I have fallen in love with but that would take way too long. This one particular bracelet caught my eye while I was browsing shopbop's latest e-mail. There was a regular metallic one like this but I think it's the purple snake skin shade that really attracted me. Love love love

Look HAUTE and fight aids

If you're planning on rocking out at Lollapalooza, Glastonbury, or even just at DMB this summer like us then you need to check out H&M's 3rd annual Fashion against Aids collection. This year the Swedish clothier based their charitable line on festival fashion, and we are SO obsessed.

My two favorite looks from the collection

The line will debut in selected stores on May 20th, and it's so groovy that it's bound to go quickly! Not to mention that one quarter of the proceeds of the line will go to youth HIV/AIDS awareness projects.

Rock on bebes
xoxo

Tribe it out

With staying true to the Chief, we found this photo of rockin feather head pieces from the cobra snake. As we said before, we're predicting a new trend here for headbands/hair pieces. If you didn't believe us before, here is one more reason to get on the bandwagon now. Go rock it out.

Take me out to the ball game

Sorry about our blogging delay but it was Little 500 and we were too busy getting some fabulous fashion photos to share with you. We love that Victoria's Secret has been creating designs specifically for different colleges and they have recently begun a line completely for baseball teams. If your a fan of baseball or your boyfriend drags you to the games these are a must buy! I have yet to see them in the actual stores but you can buy them online.

Farewell my King

McQueen with Sarah Jessica Parker at the 2006 Costume Institute Gala

I wasn't quite sure how to express my feelings about the recent passing of Alexander McQueen... Not only is he legendary in the fashion world, but he has also always been one of my favorite designers, beginning when I first saw Sarah Jessica Parker in one of his dresses at the 2006 Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala. After seeing the dress I immediately ran to my computer to learn more about this renowned artist. The theatrics of that year's fall show have been branded in my mind forever, which featured a dreamlike apparition of a woman out of thin air- that turned out to be a lifelike hologram of supermodel Kate Moss. His mind blowing, over the top runway shows have since been what I look forward to most each season. We can thank McQueen for many of the past years' ubertrends such as tartan plaids, goth lace, and the skull trend which is still in vogue today.

I was truly at a loss of words, as I'm sure were many others, when this past March, Alexander tragically took his own life just days before London fashion week
.

Although Lee, as he was known by his friends, is gone, he did not leave without sharing his otherworldly talent with us one last time. His final collection was said to be inspired by Byzantine Art and the masterpieces of the Dark Ages. Not so ironically,
the clothing seemed to be centered around the struggle between angels and demons. His Fall 2010 line truly left me in shivers and not just because of the ghostly presence. The dark foreboding coats and demonic shoes, contrasted by ethereal white gowns and divine gold embellishments made up a collection that was truly designed by an angel.

The intricate detail on the golden feathered overcoat is breathtaking.

I was truly left in awe after recently seeing the close ups of
the shoes from his final designs.

My favorite piece from the collection were angelic winged platforms.

Alexander you were beyond a doubt one of a kind, and your spirit and the magic of your genius are forever irreplaceable. Rest in Peace.

"Each piece is unique, as was he"

Always and forever your McQueen,

Bow down to the chief

Is it just me or are we headed down a warpath? I think headdresses are the new headband. Just sayinnn.. After checking out photos from chellers this past weekend, I noticed that everyone and their brother seemed to be rocking out in Native American chic.

Check out those nails!

We showed you a photo of Katy Perry at Coachella this weekend yesterday but we didn't show you the close up of the crazy nails she had! She had quite the modern work of art going on on those nails.

Southern Bells

Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift looked stunning at the 45 Annual Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas last night. Carrie nabbed the award for Entertainer of the Year for the second year in an row (the first female to have ever accomplished this!). Not only amazing girls in the country world but also in their fashion sense. Keep it up ladies!

Is the world ready to bring back the army?

So military jackets are hot right now but what about pants? I do like that they are an updated version of the army pant since they are skinnies but are we ready for this look? Normally I would say no way but I'm having trouble deciding what I think about these. What do you think of Miley's army skinnies?

The Next GO Collaboration Announced

6 days and counting until Target's latest Zac Posen collection hits store, however today the company announced it's next GO collaboration. The lable Tucker by Gaby Basora will be coming out with a line for the discount retailer on September 10th and that's not all! The company also announced that they will be releasing a limited-edition jewelry line by Temple St. Clair as well.

I've never heard of the brand Tucker before, but after checking out the website I'm already a huge fan of the fun colorful prints!

Counting down the (sadly) months until this collection comes out,

No more 3x5s

Well, I DO love Chai...

The pattern seems to be that I love all things Chai

Another designer that caught my eye this Spring has a story quite similar to the Proenza Boys. Richard Chai, of Richard Chai Love, has had a whirlwind fashion career. After graduating from the Parsons School of Design he began sketching for Lanvin in Paris and then moved on designing for Armani, Donna Karen, and eventually Marc Jacobs before launching his own line. One of my favorite bloggers (and IU graduate!), the Sartorialist, wrote a great bio about him here.

What I particularly loved about Chai's Spring 2010 line was his unique mixture of fabrics and interesting silhouettes. Some of my favorite looks were a flirty, voluminous twist on the babydoll dress and a breezy suit perfect for summer. (Oh how cute I'd look rocking that to the first day of my internship!) All his looks were clean, summery, and most importantly, easy to imitate!

Urban Outfitters offer an affordable take on Chai's rompers. One item of clothing and you've got a whole outfit- easy and perfect for summer!

Coachella update

Katy Perry, Kate Bosworth, Emilie de Ravin, and Rachel Bilson are all hits for this years Coachella music festival. We can't wait to see what everyone else was wearing and post some of our pictures from Coachella. What did you wear?
