Perfect holiday gifts for every budget! Starting with under $20

With Thanksgiving over, the holiday shopping is finally beginning and we have great gift ideas for every budget. Over the next few weeks we will be giving you some great gift ideas and we're starting with the under $20 range. Check out our picks below:

Mittens are always a cute idea since this is a winter holiday. We love these convertible gloves from Urban Outfitters.

For pretty much every magazine except WWD, you can get at least one year for under $20. Instyle is the perfect gift for any fashion lover. You can even try it for free!

Forever 21 has daily specials online where most of the items are under $20 and you can definitely find a gem in there if you check it out everyday.

Every girl loves makeup and we've read a few fabulous reviews on this new Bare Escentuals High Shine Eyecolor shadow. There's six different colors and we love this one called Moonshine.

There are so many great fashion desk calendars but we love the 365 days of shoes. I mean come on, it's every girl's weakness.

You can get Lauren Conrad's new style book for as low as $10 on Amazon. I have only read a few pages of it but I'm sure any fashion follower would love it.

Topshop has a ton of really amazing jewelry for under $20. I think my favorite of all the items under $20 are the rings.

If you can't decide what to get, you can always get a gift card. That way they can pick out their own gift.

Song of the Day- Stereo Love

Trying to find the perfect outfit for New Years in Miami (any suggestions?) and a bit too much fun in the clubs this past week are the reason for this pick...

Stereo Love by Edward Maya featuring Alicia

I'm currently vibing this Olsen outfit for New Years Eve but have no idea where to find it or anything similar. The search is on, wish me luck!

Pants you'll LOVE

I am dying over these new Paige Premium pants called Jadyn that just came out. They're so popular already that they had an insta-sellout and still haven't been restocked. I really want a pair to rock in St. Thomas this winter break. I love that it's a more formal version of the cinched sweatpants but they're probably just as comfortable. Definitely putting my name on the wait list for these bad boys.

Spotted: Leopard Coat

One day this past spring, S and I found ourselves bored out of our minds at school so we decided to hop in the car and drive an hour to the closest (semi-decent) mall and go shopping. I was mindlessly browsing the racks when I came across the cutest leopard print coat, which S and I both decided I needed to have even though it was April. And since it was spring, the coat was on sale for 75% off. How could I possibly say no? You all know our obsession with animal print...

...now to find the perfect outfit...

Little did we know at the time that leopard coats would be one of THE items to have this winter. So, after sitting in my closet for months, it's finally cold enough to wear my wild purchase!

For all you snow leopards looking to get your paws on your own spotted coat this winter, here are my favorites for every budget:

Ooh La La Bardot in Blue does La Placard!!

DOES

We are SO excited to share our next Le Placard feature with you. One of our absolute favorite bloggers, Haleigh from Bardot in Blue, was kind enough to let us feature her AMAZING Parisian closet! Haleigh's closet is filled with lovely vintage pieces and beautiful girly frocks, which she wears and is then photographed in throughout Paris for her delicious blog. She even sells some of her unique vintage finds on her etsy store . We love Haleigh's California girl-turned-authentic Parisian style, and constantly read her blog for daily inspiration and to admire her ability to create the most incredible outfits. So, without further ado..

Name: Haleigh Castaing Walsworth
Location: Paris, France
Occupation: Advertising: Strategic Planner
Favorite Quote: Life is too short to not be fabulous!
Favorite Designer: Miuccia Prada

Lately I have been subletting apartments for six months so my closet has been completely displaced between my apartment and two storage units! I just bought an apartment however and get to move in in three months, and when I do I will finally have a walk in closet! I can't wait...

How would you describe your style?
My style is feminine and flirtatious. I am one part vintage pinup, one part gypsy, and one party princess. I love color, layers, and feeling like one of a kind. I love to play with textures too! When I think of my dream wardrobe it's filled with touches of ruffles, silk, feather, fur, sequins, patent leather, cashmere, and tulle! I've heard my style described lots of ways though, including very Blair Waldorf...I do own six satin bow headbands!

We're convinced she has the most amazing shoe collection EVER!

Where do you get your clothes?
My wardrobe consists of items I have purchase from all over the world! Any given day my outfit is a walking map of all the places I have been. I don't like shopping big department stores so I stick to small boutiques lines, vintage threads collected from the fripperies in Paris, and outfits finished off with a touch of couture usually on my feet or for my handbag.

What is on your fashion wish list at the moment?
Miu Miu patent leather loafer platforms from the Fall 2010 collection. Stella McCartney ombre sequin leggings. American Apparel's tutu skirt in ivory. An blue Angora sweater by Fifi Chachnil. Manoush's silk sweetheart dress. Vivienne Westwood nude pink polished leather emblem bag. Christian Dior ribbon sweater.

Haleigh's Wish List

Thanks so much Haleigh for sharing your fantastic closet with us!

XOXO,

LP

This week wearing...

I.N.K. by OPI. It looks more purple than it does in this photo but I think it's my new favorite color!

Alice+Olivia = dreams come true

I am dying over this Alice + Olivia dress that is featured on Shopbop right now. I love the tan bow that they added to it. I wish I had somewhere to wear this...

My vintage weekend: Part II

This past weekend my father and his fiance finally tied the knot, and after two years (yes years!) of anticipation, I needed the perfect dress to celebrate the occasion...

My father and I

I found this dress tucked away among gaudy sequined ball gowns in the back corner of an old carriage house-turned-consignment shop. It's actually 2 pieces, the dress underneath is a simple floor length silk dress, and over it is a matching, sheer cape with sequined embellishments own the front. The dress made me feel like I stepped off the red carpet from a glamorous Hollywood movie premier in the 50's. All that was missing was a silk turban! I wore it with unconventional 4 inch black wedges, so that I would not be tripping over myself all night. My only accessory was a pink enamel Hermes bracelet.

The wedding was held at the Chicago Women's Club, an old art deco style building in downtown Chicago, with a beautiful view overlooking the Magnificent Mile. We had the whole 7 floors to ourselves to explore and celebrate the marriage of two lovely people.

For dinner the 40 guests sat at one long table, which was overflowing with roses, peonies, and other exotic flowers. Hundreds of candles gave the room a cheery glow while guests drank never ending flutes of bubbling champagne.

The unique alter.

After the reception, we all headed over to the Four Seasons to continue the party, Bride and Groom too! I quickly changed into something a bit more casual; including my favorite studded blazer.

In the morning we woke up to a lovely sight...

...my wonderful city.

Lake Michigan was such a beautiful color, it felt like we were in the Caribbean.

All and all it was a fantastic weekend full of family and friends, and fun vintage clothing!

XO
